Cleaning Products in the
Kitchen
Kitchen is considered as the center of
any home. It is also one of the most important parts of the
house. It is where the family’s food is prepared and cooked,
where the family sees each other in the morning, and where
close family members drink coffee. In other words, it is a
place where there is heavy traffic of people. Therefore, it is
also the place where germs and bacteria will likely be
present. To ensure that everything is disinfected, use of
cleaning products is important. But what is the best cleaning
product to be used in the kitchen?
There are cleaning products that are
chemically based and there are those that are natural and
eco-friendly. For safer kitchen, it is best to use
the eco-friendly cleaning products. Any kitchen will look clean
and neat if all the dishes, utensils, and glasses are clean.
Clean dishes are important for various reasons: first,
dishwashing cleans away bacterial that grow on dirty dishes;
second, dirty dishes attracts insects and pests; and lastly,
cookware heats evenly when spotless.
Having clean hands are important
especially in the kitchen. Dirty hands when preparing food will
let bacteria infect the food. Hand washing detergent will
not just make the hands clean but smell fresh too. Hand washing
detergent is also best used on delicate china and glass wares
rather than the dishwashing detergent.
When you are pressed with time and tiding
up the kitchen is still a long way to go, an all-purpose
cleaner is your solution. All purpose cleaner are often
water-based and are frequently packaged in trigger-spray
bottles for easy use. Even if there are various
formulation types of all purpose cleaners, most of it contain
one or more of the following ingredients:
Solvents: a water soluble organic
compound that dissolves soils.
Chelants: material that binds with metal
ions in solution
Surfactants: material to allow cleaning
solution to wet surfaces and lift away dirt
Builders: adjusts pH to optimize cleaning
performance
All-purpose cleaners are very versatile
as you can use it for any kind of surface and any kind of
kitchen equipment and utensils. Some people instead of buying
specific detergent for specific item or purpose, they rather
buy the all purpose cleaner. Many all purpose cleaners contain
biodegradable cleaning agents. So the next time you are faced
with limited time in cleaning your kitchen, use your all
purpose cleaner and the cleaning will be finished in shorter
time.
For cleaning glass window in your
kitchen, you may use glass cleaners. Glass cleaners dissolve
dirt and grime leaving the surface shiny and spotless. Glass
cleaners usually contain surfactants and solvents that adhere
to the glass surface and lift away dirt and grime. With the
recent concern on the environment, alternative cleaning
products are now being used. Homemade or natural cleaners are
becoming popular in most kitchens. Using eco-friendly is safer
in the kitchen than those chemically based cleaning products.
So, for your cleaning product, it is better to use the
eco-friendly cleaning products available online or at
supermarkets and specialty stores.
